Xgody GPS chirps at certain places while driving

Noticed lately when driving through certain parts of a certain city that my Xgody GPS start chirping! I have no idea why and its driving me crazy. Anyone have any idea of why its doing this.

My Garmin GPS chirps and puts up a message on the screen when approaching speed limit changes, schools, railroad tracks, etc.

Look for power lines. Mines does it when I go past the courthouse.
Next to the courthouse is the old county jail which is also the 911 call center. I wonder if 911 radio tower may be the cause.

My Garmin makes an annoying beep whenever you are with in .4 miles of a school. The problem is that it does it at places where there has been no school for years.

Found an Army tech manual on-line. The part in question is used to rotate the handle to one of two positions and lock in position.
