    Sputter and rough running 8n

    Okay.... So I have tried adjusting the carb throttle intake adjustment.... No results.     Timing distributor

    So as I was looking into the 8n issue a little more, I checked the timing and according the peephole, TDC was not occurring on the first cylinder. Every time I check it, it seems like it is occurring on a different cylinder. Any clues as to what my next step should be?

    Okay......As suggested, I have changed the spark plugs and it is running worse now than it was before. I have sprayed out the carb with cleaner and it is getting good flow. The points and condenser are new and clean. The points are gapped to the recommended. .025. It goes down the hill fine...

    8N sputter

    Okay......so upon working on the 8N today, I had the #1 cylinder wire unpluged from the plug and forgot to pug it back in and started it up with it off. The tractor sounded better just running on three cylinders than four. When I replaced the plug wire it began sputtering again. Any thoughts?

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    Okay....... for the third time in 6 months, my points have gave out! I am getting beyond the point of frustration with this thing. They have been gapped correctly and the cam is lubed. They aren't dirty, just burnt. What is causing this? This is an 8N side mount, 6 volt.

    8N Sputter

    the 8N has a bit of a sputter to it. It is very erratic and only occurs when there is no load on the engine at idle or going down a hill without a load. Any ideas?

    My 1951 8N isn"t getting any spark. I have tested all the way back to the coil, which is new by-the-way, and I am not getting any spark out the top of the coil. Is the coil bad? Condenser? Points? Any help is appreciated, C
